Welcome to Be Fluent

At Be Fluent, we are committed to helping every student achieve their full potential in Spanish.

Through carefully structured teaching, regular practice and personalised support, we help every student make confident, consistent progress throughout the academic year. Our goal is to give each learner the knowledge, skills and confidence to achieve the best possible outcomes they are capable of.

Whether your child is taking their first steps in Spanish, building on previous knowledge or preparing for IGCSE examinations, our small-group programmes provide the encouragement, challenge and individual attention they need to succeed.

Meet The Tutor

Hello, I'm Ana, founder of Be Fluent Languages.

I am a native Spanish speaker originally from Uruguay and live in the UK, where I have raised my family and continued to develop my career as a language teacher and tutor.

Experiencing different educational systems and cultures has reinforced my understanding that every learner is unique. It has also strengthened my belief in the importance of creating a learning environment where students feel understood, respected and encouraged to take on new challenges.

With this in mind, every lesson is an opportunity to develop language and communication skills, make meaningful progress and nurture the calm confidence that grows through learning and achieving their goals.

Although Spanish is spoken across many countries and reflects a rich diversity of cultures and traditions, the vocabulary, grammar and language structures I teach are fully aligned with the expectations of the UK curriculum, including GCSE and IGCSE specifications. Students develop language that is academically appropriate while also gaining an appreciation of the richness and diversity of the Spanish-speaking world.

Alongside my teaching experience, I hold a degree in Studies of Language, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and an enhanced DBS certificate. These qualifications, together with my experience, provide the professional foundation that supports the personalised and encouraging approach at the heart of Be Fluent.

Whether a student is taking their first steps in Spanish or preparing for GCSE or IGCSE examinations, my aim is always to provide a supportive learning environment where every learner can achieve their personal best.

My commitment is to help every student leave Be Fluent with stronger Spanish, greater confidence in their own abilities and a lasting curiosity that encourages them to continue learning throughout their lives.

Our Programmes

Spanish for Beginners

Designed for children and young people with little or no previous knowledge of Spanish.

Students develop a solid foundation in speaking, listening, reading and writing while building confidence through engaging, carefully structured lessons.

Students use familiar topics from everyday life—including greetings and polite phrases, numbers, colours, family and pets, describing themselves, and talking about their home and local area—to gradually build the confidence to communicate in Spanish from the very beginning.

Suitable for: learners with no previous experience of Spanish.

Intermediate Spanish

Designed for students who already have a basic foundation in Spanish and are ready to develop their language skills further.

Lessons build confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing while extending vocabulary, strengthening grammar and encouraging accurate, meaningful communication.

Students use familiar topics from everyday life—including free-time activities, food and healthy lifestyles, clothes, and talking about the past and the future—to gradually build the confidence to communicate with increasing independence in Spanish.

Suitable for: learners with previous experience of Spanish who are ready to progress beyond beginner level.

IGCSE Spanish Programme

Our IGCSE Spanish Programme is a structured two-year programme designed to prepare students thoroughly for the IGCSE Spanish examination.

Students enrolling in September 2026 will begin Year 1 of the programme, building the strong linguistic foundation needed for success in the examination the following year.

While there is no requirement to have followed a particular course previously, the programme is designed for learners who already have a basic knowledge of Spanish and are ready to build on their existing skills.

Throughout the programme, students develop all four language skills—speaking, listening, reading and writing—through carefully structured teaching, vocabulary development, grammar consolidation, regular speaking practice and exam-focused activities.

Students attend two 60-minute lessons each week, allowing time for consistent progress, regular revision and increasing confidence throughout the academic year.

Our priority is to prepare every student thoroughly for the IGCSE examination, equipping them with the knowledge, skills and confidence to perform at their very best.

If you're unsure whether your child has the appropriate level to join the programme, you're welcome to request a free initial assessment. We'll be happy to recommend the programme that best matches their current level and learning needs.
